We stayed at a hostel with an excellent location, right at the entrance to the island. It was easy to find and just a 4-minute walk to the sunset strip. the owner and staff at La Terraza were incredibly attentive and kind. the hostel had a well-equipped kitchen, which is not very common in central America. the common area was nice and sociable, perfect for relaxing or making new friends. The WiFi worked well and the water pressure in the shower was good. Cons: No issues 👍.

The location of this hostel is perfect for anyone wanting to explore the surrounding nature. It is conveniently situated next to the bridge where shuttles depart for various tours and attractions, making it highly practical. the common space is a charming and inviting area with comfortable chairs, tables, and hammocks, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
The hostel lacks proper insulation, causing external noise to filter into the dorm rooms easily. guests can mitigate this issue by using the bedside fan to drown out the noise.

The location of this hostel is perfect, as it is conveniently located near the bus pick-up point for tours to Tikal. the owner is very helpful and speaks fluent English, making it easy to communicate and get recommendations for places to visit in the area. the terrace area is a great spot to relax and enjoy BBQs with fellow guests.
The staff can be a bit forgetful when it comes to turning off the AC at the scheduled time, which can lead to uncomfortable temperatures in the dorms.

The shared kitchen was a nice feature, although it could have been better equipped. the common area with hammocks was cute and a great place to relax. - the air conditioner in the 4-bed room worked really well.
The lack of space in the 6-bed room with fan was uncomfortable, especially with the limited space for bags. The bathroom, being used by everyone in the hostel, was not kept clean.

Erik's helpful and kind nature stood out to me, as he always made an effort to chat and assist in whatever way he could. the location of the hostel was perfect, situated near the El Peten sign where many tours and shuttles depart from. The comfortable hammocks and well-equipped kitchen added to the overall pleasant experience. Cons: Not one thing 🙌.
